Our Loch Fyne Kippers are beautifully fleshy herring smoked without any artificial dyes or colour in a traditional smokery on the banks of Loch Fyne, Argyll
Kippers are everyone’s favorite Scottish breakfast and make a delightful light supper. We do not smoke these ourselves but instead source our kippers from one of the few true remaining Kipper smokeries on the banks of Loch Fyne in Tarbert .The family business has been handed down for at least three generations.
Skipness Smokehouse offer hand crafted, luxury Cold and Hot Smoked Salmon, Kipper, Smoked Mackerel, seasonal delicacies such as Smoked Duck and our irresistible Smoked Fish Pates all produced in small batches at our artisan smokehouse.
The business was established in 1990 on the Isle of Arran and in 2016 relocated, back to the family farm, at the top of the Kintyre peninsula part of the Kintyre Way, in the picturesque village of Skipness. The smokehouse, is situated in the grounds of Skipness Castle, just a small ferry ride away from the Isles of Arran, Islay, Jura and Gigha.
Storage
Our Kippers will keep in unopened vacuum packs for 10 days in a refrigerator and can be frozen for up to 6 months
